This morning I got a first glance of the river before sunrise. The water is almost to the top of the lower pier on Lewis & Clark Landing by Rick’s Boathouse in Omaha, NE. The lower pier has been closed off to the public as the water is rising. It will be interesting to see how much higher the river will rise over the next few weeks.
A number of articles were written in the Omaha World-Herald Sunday Edition. Reports are saying that the river will continue to stay high for most of the summer. The situation is closely being monitored and more flooding is expected when Gavins Point Dam releases even more water upstream this week.
